This is the Cheyenne Running Club
Support - Community - Connect
We are privileged to Support our members in their running journey; whether they just run for fun, are training for their first 5k or are a seasoned ultra-racing veteran!
We value our Community and are dedicated to building partnerships through volunteerism, business patronage, and utilizing organizational resources for local needs.
We Connect runners of all abilities and interests, creating opportunity for members to find their path and a sense of belonging within the local running scene.
Founded on Community
The Cheyenne Running Club was established the summer of 2019. The initial idea was to provide an opportunity for runners to train together for the Cheyenne Half Marathon happening later that fall. A partnership with the race began, and training kicked off! Several runners participated in the club's weekly long runs and there was a great CRC turnout to the race!
Following the race the world changed in early 2020. Races were canceled and it was nearly impossible to gather as a group and enjoy running with others. Once restrictions were lifted, regular club runs were held to encourage everyone to get out and be with people again. We have continued weekly runs and special events ever since, providing 3-5 opportunities each week for our local running community to participate in. Today, CRC is classified as a 501c3 nonprofit organization for public benefit and our Board of Directors continue to expand on ways to serve our community through running.
Meet the Team
Sean Baird
President
Sean is a co-founder of the CRC, and is amazed to see how the club has grown over the years. He is continously coming up with new events that cater to different interests and lead to new experiences for the club. Unfortunately, this can be a bit dangerous too, as we are still working through a list of “brilliant” ideas originated in 2023.
You can find Sean up SUPER early, with a smile on his face, leading sunrise runs and creating epic Strava designs for the club’s GPS Art runs.
Sarah Nykodym
Vice President
If you are looking for Sarah, you can find her on the trails or leading the Thursday night run “Shoes Cruise to Booze.” Sarah achieved ultra runner status in 2024 and is always looking for the next big adventure!
The self proclaimed “Mountain Witch “ became a board member in 2023 and quickly created the fan favorite “Trails 'n Ales” run at Curt Gowdy. But beware, she might just work her magic to convert you to a trail runner before you know it!
Virginia Erdmann
Secretary
“Virgie” (as she is known to most) wears many hats. From clergy to maker of fine wines to business owner (The Blue Stem Winehouse), wife and mom, she does it all!
But what she loves to call herself most is a runner. If there’s a street, trail, neighborhood, or county road you can find her ready to “rock on” and enjoy leading runs and hosting her running pals at the wine house…long live the run!
Josey Jenkins
Director of Marketing
Josey joined the CRC as a member in 2021 with aspirations to run a half marathon. A year later, she met that goal with encouragement of the club, and hasn’t look back since!
In 2023 Josey co-captained leading Team CRC to complete the Wild West Relay and joined the board in 2024. You can find her leading Beginner runs and hyping up CRC wherever she goes!
Kevin Little
Treasurer
Kevin has maintained a love/hate relationship with running since discovering the half-mile in high school track. A hater of the treadmill and lover of the outdoors, Kevin enjoys many activities including camping, fishing, hiking, paddleboarding and golfing.
With a fully remote job, Kevin thrives off the socialization and sense of community the running club provides. He can be found on the weekends enjoying time with his wife and daughters, grilling on his patio, and playing with his dogs.
